The Impact of Spam Liking on Your Blog’s SEO

Daily writing prompt
What are your favorite emojis?

Such a deep and meaningful prompt today!

While we are not talking about anything deep, can we discuss spam liking people’s blogs? Because it’s actually not good for people who wish to grow their blog, get seen by Google or potentially monetise their writing.

Moving through blogs, or indeed any website, at a fast pace gives it a high bounce rate, which then tells Google (over time, not because it happened once!) that that website is full of trash that nobody wants to stay and read.

It is terrible for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).

It also massively skews stats for anyone tracking genuine organic growth. I know some people love the extra love on their posts so not everybody feels this way, but I’m personally not a fan of spamming. To genuinely support, why not spend some time on a post and then engage thoughtfully. I would like to thank everyone who does this on a daily basis for my posts, I appreciate you!

Let’s keep the spam in the tin. (Cause spam is a food that comes in a tin somewhere in the world. I think. I don’t know, it sounded cool).
